About
Hi, I'm Jorino -
'yo-ree-no'.
I studied math and physics at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. I'm highly interested in the application of emerging technologies.
After briefly working as an AI PhD researcher at CWI in Amsterdam, I explored the potential of
digital assets at Agga Capital. Currently, I'm working as a Product Manager at
BNG Bank, where I am responsible as Product Owner for the key operations running in the Treasury and Funding department.
I'm proficient programming and data analysis, with work experience in both UNIX-based and Windows environments.
I also have experience with AI libraries such as PyTorch. For my master thesis, I researched applications of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) in mathematical finance, which led to a
publication.
My key interest area is technological evolution: how humanity transitioned from hunter
gatherers to farmers, to city-dwellers, to the information age creatures we are today. The main books I read and podcasts I listen to are about the past, present and future of technology and civilization.
I have a strong interest in technological progress as the artifacts and ideas that multiple civilizations have created thus far. What are the optimal conditions for such progress to arise from society and the remarkable individuals within it? To relax, I like to go out for a run and some gym workouts every week. I also like to travel and see up close what's happening in the world, be inspired by other cultures and witness the incredible natural wonders of our planet.
